Emirati Prosecutor Links Flydubai Bomber to Moroccan Plot

The Emirati Attorney General announced that a 29-year-old assistant onboard a Fly Dubai flight, who holds Omani nationality, attempted to carry out a suicide attack inspired by the September 11 terrorist attacks during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30. He tried to seize control of the aircraft by attacking the pilot with an emergency axe, but the vigilance of the crew and passengers thwarted the attempt, and the plane was safely diverted to Taba Airport. The suspect began adopting extremist ideas in 2017 while studying in Australia and was planning to carry out the attack alone, despite having met all employment and security requirements prior to employment. Investigations are ongoing to uncover his motives and background.
