Tunisia Elections: 14000 Candidates and Loan Shortage

Tunisia has launched a program to finance interest-free, honor-based loans, which has received a tremendous response, leading to the exhaustion of the allocated budget from the first day of opening the digital platforms. Approximately 14,200 loan applications were submitted, reflecting a huge demand from citizens. The program offers funding of up to 5,000 Tunisian dinars per individual and up to 25,000 dinars for small and medium-sized enterprises. Nineteen banks are participating, with 8% of their profits dedicated to this cause. With the remaining funds quickly depleted, the question remains whether additional financing can be provided to meet the high demand for this financial support.
