Huawei unveils Mate 90 with Kirin 9050 Pro

Huawei has announced its new smartphone, the Mate 90, which operates on its own operating system, HarmonyOS 7, and features a redesigned chip architecture to enhance performance despite U.S. restrictions on advanced semiconductor shipments. The phone is being introduced amid challenges related to limited production of advanced chips in China, forcing Huawei to develop alternative methods to improve the performance of its processors, highlighting its ability to compete despite the sanctions. The release of the Mate 90 serves as a test of the company's capacity to continue innovating in the challenging smartphone market. It boasts significant performance improvements of up to 31% compared to the previous generation and is priced starting at 5,999 yuan, with expectations of increased use of chips manufactured using LogicFolding technology in the future.
