Reddit restricts data access and suspends public RSS

Reddit announced that it will stop supporting RSS feeds starting November 13, 2026, due to their use in large-scale data scraping and malicious automated activities. This step is part of its efforts to regulate access to user content and to generate revenue through data licensing to AI companies. Additionally, Reddit will cease public access to its API by March 2027, requiring applications and services that rely on programmatic data to move to the developer platform and negotiate separate agreements to access the platform's content. These changes are part of Reddit's strategy to impose greater control over user data usage and to capitalize further on the commercial potential of its discussion and recommendation content, with financial support and facilitation provided to developers during the transition.
