Martínez on injury: returning soon

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has agreed to return to the pitch within a few weeks after undergoing surgery to treat a jaw fracture he sustained during a match against Everton in the Premier League. The injury occurred when he collided with an opposing defender. Martinez was injured in the second half and was transported to the hospital after receiving treatment on the field. His coach confirmed that the injury included a concussion, but he also reassured via social media that the operation was successful and that he would be ready to return soon. During his absence, young goalkeeper Mike Pinders is expected to step in, having made his league debut as a substitute. Chelsea currently sit in fourth place with 13 points in the league standings, trailing leaders Manchester City.
