Uruguay Introduces Colorful Tech Cards

Uruguay soccer match officials are testing an innovative electronic system to display yellow and red cards digitally, instead of using traditional plastic cards. The system relies on a smartphone-like device equipped with two buttons to automatically record warnings, dismissals, and substitutions, sending the data instantly to a digital platform that manages the information in real time. The trials faced some difficulties, particularly with the clarity of colors on the screen, highlighting the need to improve visibility before full adoption. The system is still in the testing and development phase.
