Al-Dawsari and Al-Breikan vie for Asian Player award

The Asian Football Confederation has announced the final list of nominees for the Best Player in Asia Award for 2026. The list includes Saudi player Salem Al-Dawsari, captain of Al-Hilal and the Saudi national team, alongside his teammate Feras Buraikan, the Al-Ahli striker. It is worth noting that Buraikan scored the winning goal in the 2025-2026 Asian Champions League final, helping Al-Ahli claim the title for the second consecutive year. As for Al-Dawsari, he is a nominee to win the award for the third time, having previously won it in 2022 and 2025. He continues to participate internationally with the Saudi national team in the 2026 World Cup. The contenders for the Asian Women's Best Player Award include Holly McNamara, Kim Kyung-yong, and Kim Hae-ri. Additionally, Lee Kang-in is expected to remain a candidate for the Best Professional Asian Player Outside Asia, competing with opponents from Japan and Korea. The ceremony, scheduled to take place in Bangkok on November 19, aims to honor the continent’s top stars across 19 sports categories. It will also feature awards for coaches and young female players.
