Ex-Boxer Faces Trial After altercation

British boxer Joe Cordina, a two-time former world champion in the super featherweight division, has been charged with assault following a fight with a man at a gas station in Wales last February. According to Cardiff court investigations, Cordina pushed the man, Jimmy O'Brien, out of the station, then punched him, knocking him to the ground, as the altercation continued with exchanges of punches. Cordina stated that his actions were instinctive responses to a threat, while the prosecution argued that his conduct went beyond legitimate self-defense, claiming he delivered a second punch to another person who was holding O'Brien. The trial is ongoing after a video of the incident circulated online, and Cordina now faces the potential loss of his career and work in the boxing industry.
