Moroccan referee Jalal Jaid, who has been assigned to officiate matches in the 2026 Gulf Cup, is one of the most prominent international football referees. He began his refereeing career in 2006, with a keen interest in learning the rules of the game, and obtained his Federal Referee Certificate in 2011. He continued advancing his career to include the Moroccan Professional League, then African and international competitions. In 2019, he received his FIFA international badge and participated in important matches in the Africa Champions League and the Africa Cup of Nations, in addition to officiating the Moroccan King's Cup final.
