Ukraine searches for communications alternatives

Reports indicate that restrictions imposed on the satellite communication services "Starlink" and "Starshield" have caused disruptions in Ukrainian military operations, particularly in drone operations and communication between units during the Russian escalation. Kyiv has conducted an urgent review of its communication systems, in coordination with the United States and NATO, to enhance independence and develop European technological alternatives. Additionally, these restrictions highlighted the importance of relying on a variety of communication networks to bolster defense capabilities and cyberattack resilience, especially in light of the declining efficiency of early warning systems and worsening Russian threats to critical infrastructure.
