Lebanon and Egypt sign cooperation agreement

The visit by Lebanese Minister of Health Rakan Nasser El-Din to Cairo focused on strengthening health cooperation between Lebanon and Egypt. Nasser El-Din also discussed with Iran's Deputy Minister of Health ways to improve the healthcare situation in both countries, as well as supporting efforts to finance essential vaccines and introduce the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine into Lebanon’s national prevention program, aiming to ensure the sustainability of vaccination programs. He reaffirmed the priority of supporting low- and middle-income countries in emergency preparedness, medicine and vaccine supply, and encouraged cooperation with candidates for the Director-General position of the World Health Organization. Finally, the visit included discussions on improving health services for Lebanese citizens and collaborating with international organizations to bolster healthcare resilience.
