Silent arrest at Sayyida Zainab stand

Reports have circulated about the arrest of Iraqi citizen Ahmed Mushzubb Al-Khafaji, popularly known as "Abu Tabrik," inside the shrine of Sayyida Zaynab in Rural Damascus, after he attended a religious event. There is still much uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of his detention and his whereabouts. Al-Khafaji is known for his religious activities within Shiite circles and has previously received honors from Iraqi authorities. He was also assigned, through a letter attributed to the office of Muqtada al-Sadr, to open a Majlis (gathering place) for the Sadr family in the area. His family and close associates remain worried about his fate and destination.
