12 Dead in Russian Strike on Zaporizhzhia

Twelve people, including three children, were killed in a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, with 14 others injured. Russian forces targeted residential buildings with shelling, causing extensive destruction, including the death of a six-year-old girl whose grandfather was seen crying over her body. This attack comes amid repeated Russian escalation in the region, despite efforts by the international community to halt the escalation. U.S. President Donald Trump announced the lifting of sanctions on Russian diesel exports, a move that drew criticism from Kyiv, which called for increased pressure on Moscow. The conflict remains intensifying, with ongoing Russian shelling of civilian targets and infrastructure in Ukraine, amidst political tensions among nations over how to manage the war.
