Paris to deploy 3,000 substitute teachers

The French government, led by Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, announced a plan to provide over 3,000 substitute teachers to address the shortage of educational staff in schools, especially in 114 high schools experiencing disturbances due to student protests. This plan comes in response to demands for an increase in the number of teachers and improvements in educational conditions, following demonstrations attended by more than 71,000 people calling for greater investment in schools. The substitute teachers are expected to begin their work between this Friday and next Tuesday, involving the hiring of hundreds of additional staff and the deployment of current teachers to cover absences. The government has also promised extra funding and aims to turn students' proposals into practical measures to enhance future employment opportunities.
