The port of Baniyas in Syria has experienced a significant increase in the movement of arrival and discharge of oil and gas tankers. During the period from October 8 to 18, it received 15 tankers, including 4 gas tankers and 11 oil tankers. Over 1.3 million barrels of oil were unloaded, including crude oil, fuel oil, and petroleum fractions, by numerous tankers coming from European, Russian, and Middle Eastern ports. This comes amid an energy crisis facing Syria, resulting from a gap between production and consumption, as well as deterioration in the gasoline market due to shipments that did not meet specifications, which caused damage to vehicles. The Syrian Petroleum Company has confirmed that measures are being taken to resolve the issue.
