Friday sermon on strengthening children's minds in digital age
The Friday sermon highlights the responsibility of protecting children's minds in the digital world, emphasizing that influence through screens extends to their thoughts and behaviors through the content they are exposed to on social media and electronic games. It warns of the dangers of exploiting the digital space to alter their perceptions of their religion and homeland. The sermon urges parents to engage closely with their children, monitor what they watch and listen to, and guide them through dialogue and understanding rather than fear. It also stresses the importance of developing their critical thinking and verification skills by asking questions about the source and purpose of information, and of teaching them to distinguish truth from misinformation—especially in confronting extremist ideas that could lead to hatred and violence. The message links the protection of the mind to the defense of the homeland, emphasizing that societal security is achieved through the awareness of the generations and the integrity of their thinking.
