UAE Advocates Holistic Fight Against Extremism
His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, UAE Minister of State, called for a comprehensive approach to combating extremism and hate speech by promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He emphasized empowering religious and community leaders, women, youth, civil society, and technology companies to play a positive role. He also highlighted the UAE’s efforts in supporting the agenda of tolerance, peace, and security, hosting more than 200 nationalities, and initiatives such as the Document on Human Fraternity, the House of Abrahamic Families, and participation in drafting UN Security Council Resolution 2686. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of placing tolerance promotion and countering hate speech at the core of the United Nations’ priorities to strengthen security and stability.
