Saudi Arabia plans to increase the number of jobs in the railway transportation sector to around 100,000 by 2030, up from 13,000 currently, as part of the sector's expansion and the development of qualified national talent. The kingdom is witnessing significant expansions in public transportation systems, including Riyadh's metro projects, train lines, and the development of urban transportation networks in coordination with relevant authorities. There is a strong focus on activating modern technologies, such as autonomous vehicles, which have successfully undergone trials without accidents. Additionally, the General Authority of Transport, in cooperation with King Abdulaziz University, has launched specialized academic programs aimed at qualifying national cadres in railway engineering and logistics management to keep pace with the continuous growth of transportation projects. It is expected that around 40 students will enroll in these specialized programs during the first year. These initiatives aim to meet the increasing demand for national expertise and to achieve Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals of enhancing and sustainably developing the railway transportation sector.
