Emirates' Dewa Collaborating with Greek Energy Firms

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has engaged with senior leadership from the Greek Public Power Corporation (PPC) group and Metalin Energy and Metals to enhance cooperation in the areas of energy demand, power grid infrastructure, as well as DEWA’s global expertise in operations, maintenance, and utility governance. The visit aims to share Dubai’s successful energy model, and to explore international projects in renewable energy, clean energy, and energy efficiency. The focus is on developing technologies and innovations in both traditional and clean energy projects, leveraging DEWA’s experience to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Currently, clean energy accounts for over 21.5% of Dubai’s energy mix, with expectations to reach 36% by 2030, supported by DEWA’s record achievements in solar and hydroelectric energy production.
