Assisted living halts new admissions after woman's death

Massachusetts officials have suspended new admissions at the Communities at Golden Pond assisted living facility in Hopkinton after inspections revealed persistent safety and staffing failures. These findings followed the death of an 86-year-old resident in a room with nearly 100-degree temperatures, raising safety concerns related to heating system issues and inadequate staff training. The residence, housing 182 residents, previously faced multiple state interventions due to care and documentation concerns.
