U.S. President Donald Trump said American forces carried out limited strikes on Iranian air-defense systems on Friday, claiming they were destroyed in about 15 minutes—perhaps five—and hinting at the possibility of an “occupation force.” Iranian media reported hearing two explosions in the Suza area of Qeshm Island, while Trump disclosed no further details about the targets. The strikes come amid shifts in Trump’s statements, as he alternates between threatening to escalate the war and suggesting a settlement, while Iran considers Qatari proposals aimed at bridging differences with Washington over its nuclear program.
