Tehran is awaiting the outcome of Qatari mediation and US President Donald Trump’s decision on whether to resume strikes. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said talks on the “two-day plan” to reopen the Strait of Hormuz were making progress but had not reached a final agreement. He said they depended on the other side’s responses and on Iran standing by its seven conditions. Araghchi also confirmed that the Iranian delegation’s visit to Doha did not involve negotiations with Washington. As Iran’s armed forces remain on alert, military officials have warned that any confrontation could spread beyond West Asia and last longer than expected.
