Letter Fuels Palace Doubt
The *Daily Mail* reported that more than 50 videotapes, seven hard drives and other devices were found in a storage unit rented in Mexico by Thomas Markle, Meghan’s father. Some of the items are suspected of possibly containing material documenting the sexual exploitation of children. The FBI was notified, but the nature and ownership of the material have not been established. In 2019, London police also received a letter from his former wife containing allegations against him. The letter reached an office that brought together Princes William and Harry and their wives, though there is no evidence that William or Kate saw it. A British inquiry is examining why the allegations were not referred to authorities abroad. Markle denies the allegations and has not been charged.
