Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered a response “without geographical restrictions” to any new attacks during a meeting with senior military commanders. He also directed that the target list be updated to include U.S. and Israeli tangible and intangible assets. He said Iran’s armed forces and people would decide when any attacks end and on what terms, amid fears that the conflict could flare up again after Donald Trump hinted at possible new measures following next week’s midterm elections. Khamenei has not appeared in public since taking office after his father was killed, but, according to the report, his recent messages have more clearly conveyed his leadership role and his issuance of military orders.
