At least 15 people, including five children, were killed and 36 others injured in drone strikes targeting the Gari 2 camp for displaced people in Ethiopia’s Amhara region, according to two sources involved in rescue operations. It was not known who carried out the strikes or why the camp, which houses more than 1,700 people, was targeted. Two sources said there had been no clashes in the area at the time of the strikes. The attack comes amid continued tensions and fighting between government forces and a rebel alliance in the region.
