Houthis damage roads and loot homes in Taiz
The article addresses the escalation of violations carried out by the Houthi group in the rural areas of Taiz and Lahj in southern Yemen. They have blown up roads and bridges, set up barriers and trenches, and carried out house raids and arrests of displaced people's homes and water sources. These actions disrupt the lives of residents and threaten to trigger new waves of displacement. The Houthis have also destroyed main roads and ferries connecting different areas, hindering movement and worsening the humanitarian crisis, especially with the destruction of alternative routes and increased difficulty for residents in reaching markets and essential services. Additionally, they have carried out abductions and have looted the homes of displaced people, reflecting an escalation in their domestic terrorism policies and targeting of civilians, amid growing fears of mass displacement.
