Erdogan sends Mecca Defense Pact to Parliament
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent the "Mecca Agreement for Collective Defense" ratification bill, signed between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, to the parliament, aiming to solidify the strategic cooperation among the three countries in defense and security. The agreement includes provisions stating that any attack on one of the signatory nations constitutes an attack on all of them, as well as enhancing joint weapon production, intelligence sharing, and military training. This follows discussions with foreign ministers regarding regional security issues, particularly the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, which Erdoğan strongly condemned and described as contributing to escalating tensions in the region.
