Pope Leo Urges Aid for Oleshky
Pope Leo's call urges cooperation between Ukraine and Russia to allow aid into the besieged town of Oleshki, which has been under Russian control since February 2022. The crisis of food and medical supplies has worsened, and the Pope expressed hope for the safe evacuation of residents. Zelensky has not yet issued an official response to the call, while Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to collaborate with the Pope to organize the city's supplies, without specifying a ceasefire. This comes as part of international efforts to save the besieged residents and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the afflicted town.
