US State Dept. advises Middle East travelers
The U.S. State Department warns of potential security threats in the Middle East and advises American citizens in the area to exercise extreme caution. The department recommends staying updated on the travel situation and preparing emergency plans, especially as the Iran-backed Houthi group continues targeting Saudi Arabia and launching attacks on airports and vital infrastructure, which have resulted in injuries and disruptions to travel. Additionally, it warned of the possibility of rapid escalation of hostilities outside the region, posing threats to American interests abroad and U.S.-linked sites. Citizens are urged to monitor official alerts through dedicated channels.
