Albania Protests Escalate
Violent protests in Tirana, the capital of Albania, continue for the sixth consecutive week, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who refuses to step down and claims the protests are driven by external forces. The protesters, joined by school and university students, attempted to hinder police forces using stones, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks, leading to fires in cars and government buildings. The number of injured has risen to 272 people, including 169 security personnel. For the first time, the police responded with rubber bullets. Rama reaffirmed his refusal to resign and blamed the opposition for inciting violence, accusing external parties of being behind the crisis.
