Al-Sisi affirms Egypt's support for Saudi security
Egypt emphasizes its readiness to support Saudi Arabia and safeguard Gulf security if requested, in light of regional escalation. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi announced that Egypt is prepared to take defensive measures authorized by the parliament to enhance the safety and stability of the Kingdom, stressing that the purpose is defensive, not offensive. An emergency parliamentary session was convened at his request, reaffirming that protecting Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt's national security, and any military action would be taken within constitutional frameworks. This was accompanied by ongoing support from Egypt to Gulf states and a call to halt escalation, affirming that Gulf security is a shared Arab interest.
