Why Trump's team appointed and dismissed Katie Zakaria
Katie Zakaria's appointment as White House spokesperson lasted only five days, as President Trump dismissed her due to poor performance and unpreparedness for her first press conference. Additionally, issues arose concerning her legal credentials and unclear interpretation of her self-described role as a lawyer. This occurred amid media pressure and political criticism, following a hasty appointment and a lack of thorough vetting of her qualifications, which led to her quick removal from the position. Trump’s trust in her waned rapidly, although some officials continued to support her, and she left the role during a sensitive period just before the elections.
