Washington considers expanding Iran sanctions to Chinese banks
U.S. President Donald Trump revealed the possibility of imposing sanctions on Chinese banks due to their dealings with Iran, a move aimed at strengthening efforts to isolate Tehran. Although no sanctions have been issued at present, Trump confirmed that the administration might take tough measures against Chinese banks that do business with Iran, especially as Chinese banks continue to process payments related to oil trade and other transactions between the two countries. This step is part of a broader American campaign to expand economic sanctions on Iran and to bypass China's resistance, considering it Iran's largest trading partner.
