Syria: Who Is Ali Kayali After Arrest
The article reveals that Syrian authorities have arrested Ali Kaiali, known as "Meraj Oural," who is accused of participating in the Baniyas massacre in 2013, which resulted in the deaths of 53 people and injured dozens, during his attempt to cross the border. Kaiali, born in Turkey in 1956, was one of the key planners of the 2013 bombings carried out by the regime's intelligence services, which helped suppress the Syrian revolution and were responsible for bloody massacres in multiple areas, including the two massacres of al-Biida and Ras al-Nabea, both resulting in hundreds of civilian deaths. His arrest is considered an important step toward justice in Syria, as his name has been linked to murder crimes and widespread repression during years of conflict.
