Algeria and South Africa call for stronger African representation
The Algerian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf, affirmed that Algeria and South Africa share a joint responsibility to amplify Africa's voice on the international stage and to defend its right to shape its own future. This partnership is rooted in a history of struggle and solidarity between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of expanding trade cooperation and investments across sectors such as energy, mining, industry, agriculture, and the digital economy. Additionally, he highlighted the need to improve maritime and air links to boost economic exchanges. This statement came after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a ministerial follow-up mechanism, identify priority projects, and prepare for the eighth session of the cooperation commission in Pretoria.
