French store cyberattacks may raise insurance costs
France has experienced cyberattacks targeting retail stores, leading to the disruption of cooling systems. This resulted in direct damages such as spoilage of fresh and frozen products, affecting more than 350 stores. Reports suggest that these attacks may prompt insurance companies to evaluate their pricing and risk assessment standards more cautiously, especially as operational losses continue to rise and could reach millions of euros. Although cyber insurance premiums have decreased in recent years, repeated incidents impacting critical systems could cause prices to increase, particularly in retail sectors that are frequently targeted.
