Egypt confirms strong ties with Sudan
Egypt has affirmed the strength of its relations with Sudan and the ongoing coordination between the two countries on strategic issues, especially water security and Red Sea security. This is despite two consecutive incidents: one involving the killing of Sudanese mining workers due to an air strike at the border, and the other involving gunfire targeting Egyptian truck drivers in Khartoum, which resulted in two drivers being killed and others injured. Statements indicated that the longstanding relations between the two nations are based on close cooperation, and that the recent events will not impact their relationship. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of enhancing coordination and continuing dialogue to overcome challenges. Additionally, Egypt stressed the importance of avoiding being led astray by rumors and efforts aimed at targeting the relationship between the two countries.
