Global sabotage trial starts Wednesday
Germany officially accused Ukraine on Monday of potential involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline explosions that occurred in the Baltic Sea in 2022, which led to the destruction of the two Russian gas pipelines aimed at Europe. The German public prosecutor's office confirmed that investigations have uncovered possible evidence indicating that Ukrainian officials were involved in the sabotage, and have charged them with complicity in infrastructure destruction, with the possibility that it was an act by a state. Ukrainian citizens have been detained, and authorities claim that one of them, a former Ukrainian soldier named Sergey Koznitsev, faces charges related to planting explosive devices, with other individuals possibly involved. This revelation comes amid European tensions caused by dependence on Russian gas and constitutes one of the largest acts of sabotage in the region, with ongoing investigations to uncover the facts behind the events.
