Bayraktar outlines regional power link
Turkish Energy Minister Alban Arslan Berkadar announced the discussion of a large-scale project to establish an electrical interconnection line linking Turkey with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Syria. The goal is to strengthen regional cooperation in the energy sector and ensure energy supply security amid global crises. The project aims to expand partnerships in the energy field, leveraging existing infrastructure such as the Iraqi oil pipeline with a capacity of 1.5 million barrels per day, as well as enhancing the import and transportation of liquefied natural gas to Europe. Berkadar emphasizes that Turkey is not only focused on meeting its own needs but also seeks to contribute to regional and global energy supply security, warning of the consequences of prolonged market contractions on the global economy.
