Iran executes senior Army of Justice member
The Iranian Mizan News Agency reported the execution of Omar Darastaran, one of the leaders of the "Jundallah" group, due to his involvement in arms trafficking, transporting fighters, and carrying out attacks on military targets. The armed group, which demands the rights of Baloch national and religious identity in Iran, has been active since 2012 in southeastern Iran and Balochistan Province in western Pakistan, aiming for the independence of Sistan and Balochistan. This execution comes after clashes that resulted in the killing and arrest of several group members, as well as the seizure of large quantities of weapons.
