Israel starts demolishing Negev homes
This morning, Israeli authorities began demolishing the homes of 80 families in the Al-Dihya village in the Negev region, after the Central Court in Beersheba rejected a request to freeze the implementation of the order. The demolitions targeted the homes of the Abu Wadi family, threatening to displace hundreds of residents. This comes amid existing demolition orders for about 60 homes, inhabited by roughly 300 people, with operations escalating over recent years. Arab villages in the Negev that are unrecognized face significant issues related to planning and construction, along with difficult housing and service conditions, as residents repeatedly face demolition orders due to unauthorized building.
