Cairo Film Festival Poster Faces Backlash Over Shadia Image
The promotional poster for the 47th Cairo International Film Festival faced widespread criticism for the use of artificial intelligence technology in editing the image of the late actress Shadia to portray the character Fouada from the film "Something of Fear." Many followers felt that the digital modifications altered the actress's features and lacked authenticity, suggesting that original photos or consulting professional designers would have been better options. Meanwhile, the festival's president, Hussein Fahmy, defended the technique, considering it a part of the evolution of cinematic heritage. However, the actress’s family and critics expressed their disapproval of the final design, emphasizing that it did not accurately reflect Shadia’s features.
