India satellite race: Musk's move surprises Ambani
An article reported that Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, plans to launch Starlink satellite internet service in India at affordable prices, pressing against Mukesh Ambani's Jio company, which relies on low-cost data strategies and aims for a $106 billion IPO. Musk did not specify the price of the service but indicated that costs must be low for citizens to use it, potentially leading to a decline in Ambani's profits, though he is unlikely to exit the market. This move comes amid rising tensions and intense competition for the Indian market, which is one of the largest globally. Final security approvals for Jio and Starlink satellite services are still pending, while the Indian government denies any bias in the approval process.
