Turkey imposes social media ban for under 15
Turkey has announced a ban on the use of social media by individuals under the age of 15, with the enforcement set to begin on November 1st. This measure is part of efforts to protect children from digital risks such as addiction, bullying, and sleep disturbances. The decision also requires service providers to implement measures to verify age and to prevent offering services that could have addictive effects on children. This follows the parliament's approval of a law to this effect in April. This move is part of a growing international trend to restrict children's access to digital platforms in order to safeguard them from technology-related harms.
