Beiro's new mayor and historical ties
A man named "Hitler Mussolini" was elected as the mayor of a remote village in the Andes Mountains in Pèri during an election in which a leftist candidate won. He was aware that his name is associated with controversial historical figures. Floris received 229 votes, compared to 204 for his opponent, and will begin his term in January 2027. The situation suggests that naming children after well-known figures, such as Hitler and Mussolini, is sometimes common in rural areas of South America, without necessarily indicating an endorsement of the ideologies of those figures.
