Egypt's economic data doesn’t reduce living costs
The article discusses Egypt's economic situation, focusing on its credit rating and forecasts of rising fuel prices in 2026. Fitch Ratings noted that Egypt has maintained its "B" rating with a stable outlook, driven by improvements in international reserves and an increase in foreign assets. However, the rating does not reflect the living conditions of citizens, as inflation remains high and continues to put pressure on individuals. The agency anticipates an increase in fuel prices during the current year due to rising oil prices, which could impact the prices of goods and services. Egypt is also facing structural financial challenges, such as high debt service costs and inflation rates, which reached 14.5% in August.
