Trump launches anti-Somali and immigrant rhetoric
The article focused on the statement made by U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he described Somali immigrants in Minnesota as a threat to the state, citing worsening security conditions and criminal activities. He also used the issue of financial corruption in Minnesota, which involved Somali Americans, as a pretext to attack the state and call for federal intervention, along with urging the deportation of immigrants and reductions in social service programs. Trump’s critics pointed out that his speech aims to evade responsibility for his policies, while Democrats argued that his remarks are rooted in racism and serve to distract from the outcomes of his administration’s policies.
