Egyptian official dismisses Israeli finance claims
An informed Egyptian source confirmed that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's statements regarding Sinai, describing them as "hollow threats," are aimed at achieving electoral objectives. Egypt rejects their use for political posturing. The source pointed out that Smotrich's recent comments deliberately escalated the situation without making any genuine threats, especially given Egypt's celebrations of the October War anniversary, which demonstrate its ability to protect its territory. The source emphasized that these statements are part of an Israeli attempt to spotlight the Palestinian issue and exploit it for electoral gains, while Egypt refuses any attempt to undermine its security or to displace its population.
