Egypt and Korea Expand Cooperation
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to South Korea for the first time in 10 years has strengthened relations between the two countries, with a focus on expanding economic and investment partnerships. Sisi emphasized the importance of establishing a Korean industrial zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone to make it a regional export hub, taking advantage of free trade agreements in both African and global markets. The statements pointed to significant investment opportunities in the fields of oil, gas, and renewable energy, and called for encouraging Korean companies to expand their investments. The aim of the meeting is to establish sustainable strategic partnerships, amid growing interest from other Asian countries to invest in Egypt. The visit reflects the importance of Asia’s influence in Egypt’s foreign policy.
