Iran restricts interviews with hostile media
Iranian authorities have prohibited interviews with media outlets they describe as "hostile," and the Ministry of Intelligence has established a list of such outlets. The Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iran's parliament) has passed the "Countering Foreign Influence" law, which bans Iranian citizens from conducting interviews with media organizations designated by the Ministry of Intelligence or with individuals who publish content on social media classified under the same category. Violators face penalties including imprisonment, flogging, or deprivation of social rights, except for Iranian officials. These measures aim to reduce external influence and control the flow of information related to Iran.
